Scanning
Documents can be easily scanned and indexed while connected to
the internet or offline. Manual indexing as well as indexing using
features like bar coding and ADT interfaces are supported depending
upon hospital setup. Once the images are committed to the patient
record, they are uploaded to a central database and available for
access.
Workflow
MCSRemoteSM has powerful workflow capabilities that include work
queues and assigning cases to individual coders based upon their
skill sets, routing cases to appropriate coders automatically using
predetermined sequencing, the ability to pend or forward charts for
additional information, and the ability to QA charts either randomly
or using varying criteria such as by coder, DRG, or dollar amount.
Customized reports such as backlog management, coder productivity,
and QA audit results can also be generated.
Coding & Abstracting
Upon HIPAA compliant secure sign in, the coder can access their
assigned work queue via a central user interface called the "Inbox".
Coding takes place within the supported encoders while
simultaneously viewing patient record images. There is no toggling
back and forth between screens, no logging into multiple systems -
all the required information is available within one user friendly
interface. Upon completion of the case, the coded charts are
available for designated users via secure web connection.
